Micro-encapsulation patented process instrumental for protecting heat sensitive bioactive materials

PRESS RELEASE | MARCH 15, 2023 | EDMONTON, AB, CANADA

CanBiocin, and its wholly owned US operation PureCultures2020, creators of species-specific probiotics to support animal wellness, vitality and longevity of companion animals and livestock, is pleased to announce that it has entered into a Sole License with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

"Species-specific probiotics are key functional ingredients which enhance animal wellness, vitality and longevity", says CEO, Dr. J.F. (Jake) Burlet. "Probiotics are beneficial bacteria which provide benefits such as better digestion, reducing the number of harmful bacteria in the intestinal tract, stimulating the immune system and strengthening the intestinal barrier."

Many probiotics are heat sensitive. "Encapsulating probiotics through a patented process, using a combination of natural ingredients, provides protection against a variety of animal feed manufacturing processes which involve heat" states Dr. Burlet. "Microencapsulated probiotics can better survive in these situations and most importantly remain bioavailable to animals to support their wellness, vitality and long life". CanBiocin is now moving to extend their microencapsulation to other bioactives such as prebiotics, enzymes and postbiotic materials.
